What is Sinusitis?

Sinusitis is when the linings of the sinuses become inflamed, causing pain in the facial area and excessive mucus production. Sinusitis affects patients of all ages, and depending on their age, the symptoms may vary. It usually follows either a bacterial or viral infection, but there are several reasons why you may contract sinusitis.

Diagnosing and Treating Sinusitis

Sinusitis is often diagnosed after you visit your healthcare provider based on your recent medical history and symptoms. However, if your ENT has any concerns, they may refer you for further testing, including:

  • Sinus cultures
